23rd March 2015 - Cinderella marketing very prominent both online and in print:

Lots of headlines and front covers connected with Cinderella.

Print: the Friday 20th March issue of 'Metro' had a cover story about the film; on Sunday 12th March the Sunday Times had director Kenneth Brannagh on the front cover of the 'Culture' section; the following 19th March the Sunday Times had a cover story about Lily James in the 'Style' section.

Online: Twitter has for some time had much discussion about the size of Lily James' waist, with some advocating tweeting the hashtag #boycottcinderella. Also the story of Lily James' heartbreaking real story about her own life helped her get into the film role has been widely circulated in interviews, etc.

In the Mail Online there was a story about the US $70.1m box office takings in the US, the highest ever opening for director Kenneth Branagh.

Alongside Swarovsky Cinderella slipper, Jimmy Choo has also released Cinderella-inspired shoes, discussed on blogs.

Merchandise for 'Cinderella' is being released at a great rate. Apple has made iPad, iPhone cases, speakers, headphones. Also a Carriage Bluetooth Speaker The star of the collection is this model replica of the new Cinderella Golden Coach, which is currently on display at DisneyWorld in Orlando, FL. iHome’s upcoming version is called the Carriage Bluetooth Speaker, a highly intricate, sub-$70 version with a mesh, globe-shaped speaker in the center.

The Cinderella soundtrack was recorded by relatively unknown London Sonna Rele, although the trailer music was Ellie Goulding's 'My Blood'.

Opening Week
Cinderella topped UK box office at £3.8m over 554 screens. Good timing - was the beginning of the Easter holidays. This compares with the US:
